Setting Up Phone Numbers and Outbound Calling
You can learn how to get phone numbers and do outbound calling in this tutorial.
Steps to Connect a Phone Number
1. Check for an Existing Phone Number
Navigate to the Assistants tab.
Select the assistant you want to connect to a phone number.
Look for the yellow box labeled Phone Number.
If no phone number is connected, click the yellow box to proceed.
2. Buy and Link a New Phone Number
After clicking the yellow box, you’ll be directed to the Numbers tab in the sidebar menu.
To purchase a new phone number:
Click Buy Number in the top-right corner.
Select the desired area code and confirm the purchase.
Once the number is purchased, it will appear in the list.
3. Link the Number to an Assistant
Click the three dots next to the purchased number.
Choose Link to Assistant from the dropdown menu.
Select the assistant you want to link the number to and save the changes.
Return to the assistant’s page to confirm that the phone number has been successfully linked.
4. Customize AI Voice Settings (Optional)
After linking the phone number, adjust the bot’s voice settings to match your preferences:
Settings include:
Voice type (e.g., male or female).
Speaking speed.
Emotion in responses.
Sensitivity to interruptions.
These settings allow you to make the interaction more personalized.
Steps to Set Up Outbound Calling
1. Create an Automation Workflow
Go to the Automation tab.
Create a new workflow from scratch.
Add the action Make AI Call.
2. Add the Assistant ID
Open the Assistants tab and select the assistant you want to use.
Find the Assistant ID under the assistant’s name at the top-left corner.
Click the Copy button to copy the ID to your clipboard.
3. Finalize the Workflow
Return to your workflow in the Automation tab.
Paste the Assistant ID into the Make AI Call action.
Save the workflow.
Enroll contacts in the workflow to initiate outbound calls.
