Connecting AI Agents
Connect Your Agent To FB, IG, Live Chat, SMS & WhatsApp
You can learn how to connect your AI agent to all platforms in this tutorial.
How To Connect Your AI Agent
Objective
This is a step-by-step guide to help you connect your agent to FB, IG, Live Chat, SMS & WhatsApp.
1. Prerequisites
Active Tag
Make sure you have already set up a tag in WellGrow or GoHighLevel (e.g., "Olivia_Wellgrow") that is assigned to your AI agent.
This tag will serve as the trigger for when leads or visitors engage with your channels.
AI Agent Created
You should already have an AI agent (like “Olivia”) configured with the basic persona and conversation prompts.
If you haven’t done this, watch the previous video or reference your AI Agent creation guide.
Appropriate Permissions
You must have Admin or Editor access to your Facebook Page, Instagram Account, or WordPress Site if you plan to integrate those channels.
2. Organizing Your Automations
Create (or Use) a Clean Folder
In WellGrow (GoHighLevel), navigate to Automation.
Create a new folder (e.g., "Active Tag Olivia") or use an existing folder to keep all your workflows organized.
Open the Workflow
Inside your chosen folder, locate the workflow (e.g., “Active Tag Olivia”) that you’ll use to manage different channels.
If a workflow doesn’t exist yet, create a new one.
Save Frequently
After adding or editing triggers and actions, always click Save.
This ensures you don’t lose progress when making changes.
3. Adding Triggers for Each Channel
Inside Your Workflow
Click Add New Trigger and select Customer Replied.
Choose a Channel
- From the dropdown, select a reply channel. Common options include:
Instagram DM
Live Chat
Facebook Messenger
SMS
WhatsApp (if connected)
Repeat for Additional Channels
Add as many Customer Replied triggers as you need - one for each channel.
Example: You may have triggers for “Instagram DM,” “Facebook,” “SMS,” and “WhatsApp.”
Initial Reply Message
In the Actions for each channel trigger, configure the Immediate Reply (e.g., “Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. What’s your #1 health and fitness goal?”).
Feel free to customize the text for each channel (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) for a more personalized feel.
Assign the Tag & Trigger the AI Agent
Under Actions, apply the tag you created (e.g., “Olivia_Wellgrow”).
This ensures your AI assistant is activated and ready to respond after the initial message.
Save Your Workflow
Once each channel trigger is set, click Save at the top or bottom.
4. Connecting Facebook & Instagram
Go to Settings → Integrations
In WellGrow (GoHighLevel), navigate to Settings (usually a gear icon).
Select Integrations from the left-hand menu.
Connect Facebook
Click Connect beside Facebook and follow the prompts.
Grant WellGrow permission to manage messages and comments on your Page.
Connect Instagram
Under Facebook Integrations, you should also see the option to link your Instagram account (requires your IG to be a professional/business account connected to a Facebook Page).
Approve all necessary permissions so direct messages can flow into WellGrow.
Test the Connection
Send a test message from your Instagram DM or Facebook Messenger to confirm it appears in WellGrow.
Check that the system applies the correct tag and triggers your AI agent’s reply.
5. Setting Up the Live Chat Widget
5.1 Creating a New Widget
Sites → Chat Widget
In WellGrow, go to Sites on the left menu.
Click Chat Widget at the top right.
Choose Widget Type
Select Live Chat (not SMS, Email, or WhatsApp) to create a real-time chat window for your website.
Name your widget (e.g., “Olivia Impactful Look Test Widget”).
Customize Design & Style
Color Scheme: Pick your brand color or a style that complements your website (e.g., orange).
Position: Typically bottom-right corner of the screen.
Greeting Text: Define the intro message (e.g., “Hi, it’s Olivia! How can I help you today?”).
Returning Visitor Message: Optional; e.g., “Welcome back, how can I help you today?”
Widget Icon: Choose an icon that represents your brand or agent persona.
Enable/Disable Greeting
Decide if the chat automatically greets users or waits for them to click it.
If you want the agent to respond 24/7, leave Business Hour Setup off.
Save Your Widget
After styling and naming, click Save so you don’t lose your customizations.
5.2 Embedding the Widget on Your Website
Option A: Using WellGrow (GoHighLevel) - Hosted Pages
Sites → Funnels or Websites
Open the funnel or website page you created in WellGrow (GoHighLevel).
Settings
Click Settings for that specific funnel or page.
Choose the Chat Widget you created (e.g., “Olivia Impactful Look Test Widget”) from the dropdown.
Publish & Test
Click Publish to make changes live.
Preview or Open the page and confirm you see the chat icon.
Send a test message to see if your AI agent replies.
Option B: Installing on WordPress
Install the LeadConnector Plugin
In your WordPress Admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
Search for LeadConnector and install/activate it.
Go to LeadConnector settings in WordPress.
Sign in using your WellGrow (GoHighLevel) credentials and select the account/location you want to connect.
Choose Widget
Once connected, select the Chatbot Widget (the one you created in WellGrow).
The plugin will automatically embed the script on your WordPress site.
Verify & Test
Visit your WordPress site, look for the new chat icon, and send a test message.
Option C: Manual Code Installation
Obtain Embed Code
In WellGrow’s Chat Widget settings, find the Get Code or Embed Code option.
Paste into Website
Go into your website’s HTML (e.g., Wix, Squarespace, or custom HTML) and paste the snippet in the </body> or </head> section, depending on instructions.
Save & Test
Publish or refresh your site and ensure the widget appears.
6. Connecting WhatsApp (Optional)
Account Configuration
Verify that your WhatsApp Business API or Twilio WhatsApp is connected to WellGrow.
Add a Trigger
Inside the same workflow, create a Customer Replied event for the “WhatsApp” channel.
Messaging Templates
In some regions, WhatsApp requires pre-approved message templates. Check local rules or your WhatsApp Business settings if needed.
7. Crafting Your Initial Conversation Prompts
Welcome Message
Keep your opener simple yet engaging (e.g., “Hi, thanks for reaching out! What’s your main goal today?”).
Tag & Trigger
Apply your “Olivia Wellgrow” tag to each conversation so the AI agent is activated.
Channel-Specific Language
Instagram might call it a “DM,” while on Facebook, you might say, “Thanks for messaging us on Facebook!”
8. Testing & Troubleshooting
Multiple Channels
Send test messages on Instagram, Facebook Messenger, live chat, etc.
Confirm the AI agent responds and see if any triggers overlap or conflict.
Review Workflows
If something doesn’t fire, double-check triggers, conditions, and that you saved changes.
Check Transcripts & CRM
Ensure all messages are logged properly, tags are applied, and user data is captured in your CRM.
9. Helpful Tips & Notes
Email Channel
The transcript suggests avoiding AI replies by email. However, you can enable it if you want an AI-driven email response sequence - just be mindful of formatting and potential confusion.
Live Agent vs. AI
If you have an existing live chat agent or a different AI, turn it off or adjust the hours to prevent overlapping responses.
Save Changes
Always click Save in your workflows, chat widgets, and settings after making edits.
Styling & Branding
Consistency is key. Make sure all chat messages, brand colors, and logos match your business identity.
Optimization
As you gather more leads and chats, review transcripts to fine-tune prompts, handle unique objections, or add knowledge base articles.
Final Note
By following these step-by-step instructions, you’ll be able to
Integrate your AI voice and chat agents across Instagram, Facebook, SMS, WhatsApp, and a live chat widget on your website. This streamlined approach will capture leads from every channel, apply the correct tags, and ensure your AI assistant (e.g., Olivia) can respond quickly and accurately - ultimately boosting engagement and conversions.
